My cousin gave me this CD of songs by TacoCat and No Bunny (maybe there are other artists too but if there are he didn't tell me and that's his fault) which I'm listening to now. I don't know if No Bunny have any cool cred/street cred or whatever but I really like them. Excerpt: I called you up on the telephone/You were last on my list but at least you were home. That's good, right?
Also, TacoCat. HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT TACOCAT?! Theoretically, they are everything I seek in any band. Actually some of the songs are a little bit too cutesy, rhyme'y', etc. but really, how did I not know about them? Either way, I like them a helluva lot more than BS pastoral FOLK POP which is actually tolerable once in a while ("Ragged Wood" is fast enough to keep me awake), to be fair. I've been reading a lot of Richard Meltzer's work lately. If you were alive in 1970 and at all in tune to what was going on with music, you know what he did. And you know that none of what he wrote made any sense at all.
